Growth Mindset Mantra of the Month ~ ‘My brain is like a muscle that grows’

Author Visit at Litcham School

Seven pupils from Years 2, 3 and 4 visited Litcham School on Tuesday for a writing workshop with resident author Helen Moss.
“I liked how we came up with the ideas for our car design”
“It was good to meet a real author”
“Helen showed us all the books she has written – it’s inspired me to write”.

Maths Open Mornings

It was good to see so many parents taking part in the Maths Open Morning this week. We had 46 visits to lessons. The feedback from parents has been overwhelmingly positive:
“It’s all changed since I was at school, it’s interesting to see how the children learn maths now”
We would love to hear honest feedback about the sessions. Please return feedback forms by Friday 30th November. Thank you to the staff for including parents in the lessons.

Slime

Please can you ensure that your children are not bringing slime into school. It is being dropped and trodden into carpets causing damage; the children are attempting to play with it during learning which is distracting and disruptive. Children are also taking blu tac off posters/displays around school to make slime. Any slime found in school will be confiscated by the adults and returned to you after school.

Parking

Please do not park on the yellow lines outside school. This area is marked for safety reasons. It is an offence to do so.

Fields Familiar, Foreign and Faraway

Children in Y5/6 will be performing at the village hall as part of Fields Familiar Foreign and Faraway Project on 6th December at 6:30pm. In the first instance each child will be given two tickets, however more will be available from the office on a first come first served basis. Children in Reception – Y4 will have seen the performance.

FoDS News It’s that time of the year again when we are starting to collect for the Christmas hampers. Please sign up on the sheets outside the office, or make a donation of your choice. On Wednesday 5th December there will be a Festive themed Beetle Drive after school in Oulton class from 3.30pm. 50p per player. All children need to be accompanied by an adult. Watch out for the poster on the notice board. If you can help at this event, or at the Christmas Market, please let a member of FoDS know.
