Admissions

You are very welcome to visit the school at any time~  please make an appointment with the office. Admission is administered centrally by Norfolk County Council.  If you are out of area there should be no problem with admission providing we have vacancies, though you will not be eligible for free school transport.

Our catchment area consists of the villages Great Dunham and Little Dunham.  Pupils from Little Dunham are entitled to free transport.  Click here for more information.

Our pupil admission number (PAN) is 11 per year group.

We follow the Norfolk County Council Policy on School Admissions.

Where admission is offered prior to compulsory school age, parents may defer their child’s entry into school until later in that academic year.

In the event of over-subscription for places in Great Dunham Primary School the Governors will give preference to children living nearest the school according to the following criteria:

  • Children with a statement of Special Educational Needs naming that school.
  • Children who live within the designated area and:
  • Have a sibling attending the school at the time of their admission.
  • Have a sibling attending the local High school at the time of their admission.
  • Have no sibling attending the school or local High school at the time of their admission.
  • Children who reside outside the designated area and:
  • Have a sibling attending the school at the time of their admission.
  • Have a sibling attending the local High school at the time of their admission.
  • Have no brother or sister attending the school or local High school at the time of their admission.

If you would like to apply for a place at Great Dunham Primary School please contact admissions at the local authority.

It is important that you make sure that the local authority has received the application for a place for your child by the deadline set by the local authority.
